Designed from a spherical volume, the object is segmented into two articulated halves through a hinge mechanism, allowing one half to rotate outward and project indirect light into the space. When not in use, it reads as a continuous spherical volume; when in use, the form shifts and allows the light to come out. The piece is machined from aluminum with a radial brushed finish.
